Book: Practical Permaculture

Practical Permaculture for Home Landscapes, Your Community, and the Whole Earth

by Jessi Bloom and Dave Boehnlein

The Design Process
We will be using the first two sections of this book (pp 1-112) to guide you through the design process for the master plan project. It is expected that your project reflects the information found in the relevant sections of the book.

Permaculture systems and elements
The other big chunk of the book covers permaculture systems. This section gives detailed information on specific tools and strategies for maximizing sustainable production in your designed systems.

For each chapter:

  • Provide an outline overview of the information that’s presented. For each heading in the outline, provide a brief summary of the information in that section.
  • Describe your ideas for how that information could be applied to your service site. Include at least one drawing, diagram, or schematic to help convey your ideas. Remember to apply visual design principles as you compose your document.
